Supporting Every OFW Journey Across the Americas
To empower Overseas Filipino Workers across the Americas with comprehensive resources, advocacy, and community support — ensuring that every kababayan has the knowledge and connections needed to thrive professionally, protect their rights, and maintain their wellbeing while working abroad.
An Americas where every Filipino worker feels informed, protected, and connected — where distance from home doesn't mean isolation, and where the challenges of working abroad are met with reliable support and a strong sense of community.
An Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) is any Filipino citizen who is currently working or seeking work in a foreign country. Over 2 million OFWs are deployed the Americas — more than any other region in the world — with major communities in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, and across the Caribbean. OFWs are among the Philippines' greatest assets, contributing billions in remittances annually and representing the spirit of Bayanihan (community solidarity) on a global scale.
OFW Americas is an independent information resource dedicated to serving the Filipino community the Americas. We provide:
Every day, millions of Filipinos the Americas face challenges — new languages, unfamiliar legal systems, cultural adjustments, strict visa regimes, and the loneliness of being far from home. Reliable, up-to-date information in plain language can make the difference between struggling alone and thriving with support.
OFW Americas was created to bridge that gap. We believe that knowledge is empowerment, and that every Filipino worker deserves access to trustworthy information about their rights, their options, and the resources available to them — whether they're a domestic worker in Canada, a nurse in the US, a factory worker in Mexico, or a caregiver in Chile.
